Kim and Gerry: engaged

I have known Kim for a long time, so when I heard she was engaged, I jumped at the chance to shoot her engagement photos. We headed out to Balboa Park, and after a bit of nervousness and awkward posing in front of the camera, James and I had them making out like they were movie stars.

we just attended their wedding in beautiful naples, florida and they had the most amazing photographer capturing their event: carlos baez. not only was carlos super-friendly and extra helpful to me and james, but he had a team of four photographers who were all very professional and captured every detail of the extraordinary event. its so great when legendary photographers like carlos are so supportive of those of us just starting out in the industry, truly encouraging.

Jenny and Ben Revisited

Last year around this time, I got to capture my friend Jenny's wedding in beautiful La Jolla. Jenny and Ben flew in from Florida and were expecting the amazing SoCal weather that we all know and love. Instead they got cloudy skies and lots of wind, up to 30 mph! Luckily, the clouds broke just enough to capture some great beach shots, but we had to do most of the pictures upfront at the museum because of the wind. Here are a few of my fave shots from the wedding:

Catherine and John: engaged!

I met Catherine and John years ago, and had the pleasure of photographing their engagement a couple weeks ago. After a few drinks to catch up, we headed out to Coronado where we had the most beautiful view of the San Diego skyline, and amazing weather (it was over 90 degrees inland, in April!). Luckily for us, the cool breezes were blowing so we weren't too hot (at least not until later in the shoot :))

A great new partnership

We have been really busy over the past week, shooting engagements, birthday parties, and meeting with one of the most adorable makeup artists ever. We are so excited to be working with Julie of Dream Day Makeup, and we think this is going to be an incredible addition to our already fabulous photography services we offer brides. Julie can do all parties, big or small, and brings a very talented assistant with her as required. So when you are ready to do your engagement shoot, or if you haven't found a makeup artisit for your wedding day yet, call Julie and make sure you tell her we referred you.

Kate and Rich: Engaged!

Although we shot their engagement last year, we never got a chance to share it since our blog wasn't up yet. Kate and Rich are getting married later this year in La Jolla, at Azul, one of the most beautiful restaurants overlooking the ocean. Based on how incredible they look in their engagements, we can't wait for their wedding.

could she be any cuter?

one of my closest friends in the world has the most adorable little girl, and as a baby gift to her, i am doing a first year photography series for her. i am so lucky to get to capture her growth from newborn to little girl. the first year photography package is such a great gift to an expecting couple, and there are options to fit everybody's lifestyle and budget.

the most recent pictures were taken soon after her baptism, and she is developing such a cute personality. taking pictures in the home and in natural settings without a lot of studio equipment is a great way to capture the baby's personality and get the real images...
