erin and brad: engaged!

it's always fun to do engagement sessions at a couple different spots, it gives couples a few different looks that they can use not just for their wedding, but as wallpaper in their house. erin mentioned that she loved our black and white photos, so we did a ton of b/w at the park, and at the beach, which turned out very cool.

we met erin and brad at balboa park and then headed over to coronado in hopes of getting sunset pictures. although it looks like we are in the jungle here, we're actually just off the normal photographic path at the park, a nice shaded area where we can get really intimate shots without attracting a crowd.

next we moved on to the beautiful prado buildings and the reflecting pool, which are so architecturally striking.

erin wanted to make sure she got pictures that really said "san diego" so of course we went across the bridge to coronado and got some great pictures of the skyline.

erin mentioned that she liked boats (could it be because brad is in the navy?), so we headed over to the little marina on the bayside of coronado to get some cute pre-sunset pictures.

we never got the sunset (pesky marine layer) but we had a great time and erin and brad got some great pictures to use on their wedding announcements. we wish them all the best for a very happy marriage and a big thank you to brad for serving our country!

adrienne and dave: engaged!

it was a very un-san diego day when we met adrienne and dave in ocean beach. cloudy, cool, and a little unphotogenic--that is until adrienne and dave unleashed their hidden supermodels. we started out right near the ob pier, and took a few of the easy shots, getting them comfortable with the camera.
we took a little walk across the rocks, past some folks who were definitely enjoying themselves in the ob way, and made it to this amazing private cove where we got a little steamier with the pictures...

we played around in the water for a bit and found a very cool little cave, but we didn't chance going in...

after a couple more safe pictures, we ended the day with another makeout session, and headed to south beach for some amazing fish tacos and fried calamari. we can't wait to photograph their wedding later this year, congratulations on your engagement and on your modeling prowess!

Are weddings recession-proof?

so i was browsing msn today and saw a headline that grabbed my attention: Economy putting a cake fork in bridezilla? the basic premise of the article is that the downturn in the economy is affecting even those industries that were formerly thought to be recession-proof, like the wedding industry. brides are looking to cut costs, and are doing more things themselves, but one thing that still requires professional help is photography. luckily for us, our prices are extremely wallet-friendly, so if you are looking for a photographer, check out our website and contact us to discuss your wedding details.

weddings: meredith and steve

we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day for a wedding, especially in la jolla.
meredith and steve got married on a sunny saturday afternoon, at the beautiful bishop's school in the village. the church was gorgeous, with a very unique layout...

meredith looked absolutely gorgeous as she got ready at the grande coloniale hotel in the village

meredith chose soft colors for her flowers, soft bouquets of beautiful roses

meredith and the girls arrived in a very stylish white bentley, which suited her perfectly...

they both looked so content and happy during the ceremony...

a few more of our favorite shots from the day...

after a long day of pictures, we saved the best for last...

congratulations meredith and steve, and best wishes for a very happy marriage!

an amazing family...

i have known the duvas for a long time, and i was so happy when they asked us to shoot a few family photos of the new addition to their family. we went out to balboa park and unleashed the little 2-year old, and snapped as he ran around, tried to stomp on bugs, and had a great time riding mommy. the duvas welcomed a new little one recently, and she was so good, only crying when it got a little cold out and she got a little hungry. here are some of our favorite shots from the day:

what a beautiful and happy family--congratulations on your new addition!
