summertime fun | san francisco family photographer

our little godson is getting so big, it seems like just yesterday we were taking photos of him as a sleeping baby on the front porch.  on a way-too-hot summer day, we ventured out to a nearby park to get some photos of the little guy.  he wasn't having it, until we got back home and uncle jimmy took him in the pool. and then it was smiles and smiles for what seemed like forever.  here are a few favorites from the day...

i am back to being way behind on photos, but i guess that is ok since i had such a cute family up there for so long. here is another one of my favorites, back from the holiday madness. erin and michael just had a new addition to their family, as if little landon wasn't cute enough, now he has an adorable baby sister. congrats!

we love checking out new spots for family pictures, and so we were thrilled when heidi asked to do her family photos at the san diego firehouse museum in little italy. we had always loved the red door which made a perfect backdrop for engagement photos, but we had never done a family session there.

one thing that makes these photos really stand out is the color coordination of the family. heidi did a great job picking outfits that complemented each other and went well with the background. the red, cream and brown palette works nicely for an urban backdrop, or as you'll see in a future post, for a park setting to give your pictures a bit of pop. here are our faves from the session...

last month we headed to charlotte, nc to see some great friends, the fosters, who used to live here in san diego. its always fun to get to see old friends, but it was even more special since leigh and scott had added a new little guy to their family and scott was celebrating his 40th birthday. i couldn't believe how absolutely adorable their newest son is, but i should have known based on how cute their first one is. here are some of our faves from the day...

welcome baby brody

i can't begin to explain how happy we get when our past clients call us for pictures, and with heather and randall, we feel like we have known them for years ( i think we have) and were so excited to do their newborn pics of baby brody. unfortunately, brody was feeling a bit under the weather, but we did manage to get a few good ones of him and daddy before randall had to head off to afghanistan. randall, be safe, we can't wait to see you in a few months!!! here are some of our faves from the shoot, congrats heather and randall, we'll see you soon.
