weaver family, sd firehouse museum | san diego portrait photographer

we love checking out new spots for family pictures, and so we were thrilled when heidi asked to do her family photos at the san diego firehouse museum in little italy. we had always loved the red door which made a perfect backdrop for engagement photos, but we had never done a family session there.

one thing that makes these photos really stand out is the color coordination of the family. heidi did a great job picking outfits that complemented each other and went well with the background. the red, cream and brown palette works nicely for an urban backdrop, or as you'll see in a future post, for a park setting to give your pictures a bit of pop. here are our faves from the session...

the willis family, part 2

you might remember this adorable family from a few months ago, when we did their shot in balboa park. danielle was pregnant at the time, and recently gave birth to a precious baby girl, so we headed over to get some new family pics and tried to get some of the sleeping baby. i am not sure what it is about babies and cameras, but i can guarantee that when i am around, the baby will not sleep. nevertheless, we got some great shots, and had a lot of fun playing with the kids and the dogs. congrats danielle and jeff on the new addition to your family!

here's some cute ones of the new baby and family...

jeff is a huge raiders fan and he is passing his bad taste in sports teams down to his adorable son--ha ha jeff, just kidding, everyone loves the raiders...

danielle's mom has the cutest little dogs, and they are for sale...

family: liana and frank

we met liana and frank through rosie, who we met through leti, who we met through my mom--pretty neat, we can grow our business through relationships. although it was tough to get the little one to smile at first, the mere mention of candy had him smiling up a storm. and the ducks didn't hurt either, he was the only one who wasn't scared of a thing! here are a few of our favorites from the session at polliwog park:
