engaged: kelley and david

we met kelley what seems like ages ago, before she moved with her husband to south dakota. they were planning their november wedding here in san diego, and although it turned out we weren't able to do their wedding, we promised them we would do some pictures when they came into town. james and delshad met kelley and david at balboa park and spent some time just having fun, relaxing before the big day. we hope your day was fabulous and we had a great time with you both!!!

she said yes! dave and suzan proposal

this might make you tear up, i know i did when james told me about dave's plan to propose to his girlfriend suzan. girls always think that guys aren't romantic and aren't creative, but this may change your mind. dave called james and told him he wanted to propose at the beach, at sunset, and wanted james to photograph the proposal. so james and dave came up with a plan to surprise suzan, they said james was taking a photography class and needed some sexy models for a photo shoot down at windansea beach. of course, suzan and dave are the PERFECT choice for that, can you believe how amazing they look? dave didn't look the least bit nervous, and suzan's expressions were absolutely priceless. we are so excited for your engagement, and wish you tons of happiness and fun as you plan your wedding!!! here are our faves from the day...

mia and her parents

mia is one of those little girls who just loves the camera, and we loved taking pictures of her at balboa park. of course it helps that her parents are super hipsters and were up for fun, and let us play with mia as much as we wanted. her adorable hat is from cotton blossoms and is part of their fall line, check it out here (and use code DANIPHOTO for a discount). here are some of our faves from the shoot...

carter and the family

we know there is always a chance that a little guy won't be feeling up for pictures on the big day, but between me and james, we can usually get them to at least ham it up for a couple pics. despite all our tricks, we couldn't get carter to smile, until the very end, when mom pulled out her tricks and got him laughing. he is so adorable, we were thrilled to get some pictures of him and his family at south coast winery in temecula. here are our favorites from the shoot...
