dec 14: a month of charitable giving -- american cancer society | sf bay area photographer

i'm not sure about you, but whenever i see one of those commercials about celebrating another birthday, i can't help but feel grateful for the american cancer society.  cancer is such a vicious disease,  it seems like it is everywhere i turn these days -- from family to friends to my favorite tv characters and fictional book heroines, i just can't escape it.  so i help in the little way i can, by donating to the american cancer society throughout the year. 

james and i met sandy and john at a cooking class years ago, and we love seeing them every year.   enjoy today's family holiday photo, taken at hotel del coronado.

today's family photo was taken at the hotel del coronado, a fantastic hotel in san diego that provides a great backdrop for photos or is fabulous for a little r&r.  love how the colors pop here, and love the leather sassiness, fierce!

wedding: michele and brian

michele and brian wanted to have a small and intimate wedding celebration, and chose the beautiful hotel del coronado for their event. the weather wasn't great, but that didn't damper the mood for this very affectionate bride and groom. while james got some pictures of brian getting ready, i spent time with michele, her girlfriends and her mom.



brian's ring was one of his uncle's from a long time ago...so cool...

i love how michele's sister officiated the ceremony, and was overjoyed when she announced that brian could kiss the bride...michele and brian are so in love, we liked to catch them in these impromptu moments throughout the evening...

michele and brian have already headed out for their extended honeymoon, a 2-month trip across the country, we are so jealous. congratulations again on your wedding, and we hope you have an amazing trip!

heather and randall: engaged!

we met heather and randall last year at heather's sister's wedding - i don't think randall left the dance floor all night, and both heather and randall loved the camera. so we were incredibly excited when they asked us to be their photographers for their wedding, this july at the marine corps recruit depot (mcrd) in san diego.


heather and randall met us at the hotel del on a very gray day, quite uncharacteristic in san diego. randall had just returned from 7 months overseas with the marine corps, so they were very excited when we asked them to make out for us.




we went for a little walk down the beach, to a deserted life guard station where things got a little steamier...

and then headed back to the del for some fun and playful shots...
