wedding: amy and sam

amy and sam got married on a beautiful san diego saturday afternoon, on their own private dining cruise. before boarding the ship, we headed to balboa park for some pre-wedding pictures. amy looked amazing, and her dress was perfect.

we fought the crowds on a busy afternoon to find some secluded spots to capture amy and sam looking incredibly happy and excited to be getting married...

we headed over to one of our favorite spots in the park, in front of the botanical garden for a few more shots...

and then over to the fountain for one last shot before we headed over to coronado

we headed over the bridge to ferry landing park, where amy and sam spent some time on the beach, with the beautiful san diego skyline in the background...

we boarded the dinner cruise and sailed san diego harbor, enjoying a wonderful dinner, great music and fantastic dancing. amy and sam ended the night with a memorable kiss in front of the downtown lights, a fabulous ending to a wonderful wedding.
congratulations amy and sam, we thank you for letting us be part of your special day.

heather and randall: engaged!

we met heather and randall last year at heather's sister's wedding - i don't think randall left the dance floor all night, and both heather and randall loved the camera. so we were incredibly excited when they asked us to be their photographers for their wedding, this july at the marine corps recruit depot (mcrd) in san diego.

heather and randall met us at the hotel del on a very gray day, quite uncharacteristic in san diego. randall had just returned from 7 months overseas with the marine corps, so they were very excited when we asked them to make out for us.

we went for a little walk down the beach, to a deserted life guard station where things got a little steamier...

and then headed back to the del for some fun and playful shots...

heather and randall, we are so excited for your wedding, and are looking forward to a lot of amazingly beautiful and fun pictures.

alison and dave: engaged!

we got a great opportunity to meet alison and dave on a saturday afternoon, 2 days before dave was deploying for 6 months. they had driven down from lemoore for the weekend, to spend time with the family and deploy out of san diego.

dave and alison are getting married in january, in beautiful julian, ca. and we wanted to give alison some nice memories of dave while he was away. here are some of our favorite shots of the day...

dave, we wish you a safe return from your deployment and say thank you for serving our country. we can't wait for you to get home!

wedding: leti and nick

you might remember the smoking hot engagement photo session we posted a few months ago--leti and nick looking sexy and passionate--and the wedding was no different. leti pulled out all the stops and vamped it up to look hotter than ever, so much so that it brought a tear to nick's eye when he first saw her.

leti and nick got married on a unusually chilly saturday in may, out in jamul, east of san diego. they were married at a beautiful family home, which had plenty of places to capture some great shots of them.

we stayed away from the more traditional photos, though we did get a few, and opted more for intimate and fun pictures that captured the passion leti and nick have for each other.

leti has an amazing look in her eyes, which we couldn't get enough of, and neither could nick...

we had a fun little prop in the car, and it just seemed so appropriate since it had been pouring rain the night before...

we ended our photo session with a subtle and intimate moment, which completely conveyed the love and passion leti and nick have for each other.

leti and nick, thank you for choosing us to capture your special day, we wish you the best on a very happy marriage.

wedding: andrea and john

i have known andrea for many years, she is my super-star colorist at the hippest and coolest salon in san diego, gila rut. so when she casually mentioned one day that she was engaged after i had just told her i started a photography business, i was thrilled when she asked me to be her wedding photographer.

although the sky looked ominous early in the day, the sun came out for the wedding ceremony at the world beat center at balboa park. the setting was perfect for the very untraditional wedding, where the bride wore RED and looked absolutely amazing.

there is a really cool tradition where you put sixpence in your shoe for good luck, and andrea was wearing her grandmother's shoes, how cool!

all the ladies representing...

and the guys looking ready for the big moment...

andrea looked so happy to be getting married to john...

we took some time after the ceremony to catch andrea and john before the craziness of the karaoke and live-music reception

the reception was the most fun we have seen, great live music (did we mention john is an amazing musician?, see his band pic below) and all the guests did karaoke, some more than others.

we haven't had time to get through all the reception pictures, but they'll be done soon. congratulations andrea and john, and thank you for inviting us to be your wedding photographers, we had a great time!
