sandler family

its been a crazy few days of family portraits, as you can see by the latest posts. i met melissa and her family down at la jolla cove earlier this week for some fun family portraits. she mentioned that she would be bringing her dog, and i was worried that the dog would be hard to control, but he was the easy one, posing for picture after picture.

the kids are adorable, and full of personality, they could definitely be in commercials

melissa looks amazing, even more so when you consider she has 3 kids. i think i might have to borrow some kids to get the hot mom look that my clients seem to have

a sure-fire way to get kids laughing...

thank you sandler family for letting me play with you and capture all your personalities. have a happy holiday season and i'll look forward to our next beach outing!

bowman family

ok, so we might have a little competition here for the cutest family award. if you remember a couple weeks ago, i made a comment on one of my posts about the davis family being the cutest around, and of course i heard from all my friends on that one. so here is my good friend (and maid of honor) deanne's latest entry for the cutest family award--with sydney's boots, bluest eyes and little pursed lips, there is definitely a lot of competition...

i like to call sydney "simpson" because she always has a look like one of the simpson characters, only much cuter of course...

i think this could be a magazine ad...

look at the cute lil furry boots...

next it was over to their house to get some pictures in front of the tree, but sydney was having none of it, so this was the closest we got to sitting in the cute chair in front of the tree...

i am sensing a supermodel beginning here...

happy holidays deanne and eric, and of course my favorite little model sydney!

traci and chris: engaged!

every so often, we get a chance to do something really cool, and recently, that was shoot the engagement of traci and chris, at the very exclusive bridges in rancho santa fe. when we drove up, it looked as though we had left the beachy san diego landscape for the rolling hills of tuscany. it was absolutely amazing, and the coolest thing was that we had it all to ourselves and traci and chris were fantastic models, indulging our every wish.

we started right outside the clubhouse, where the beautiful fall leaves could trick anyone to believing we were anywhere but seasonless san diego. i love how traci and chris look like they stepped out of an east coast ivy league (sorry chris, usc just doesn't have the ivy) school, so classic and perfect...

chris told us he could do a neat little trick, and we were able to capture it perfectly--can you believe how high he is?

walking down the flowered path led us to a vineyard, yes, they have their own vineyard...

how amazing is this place???

after a quick wardrobe change, we headed for the front of the country club, which was just as impressive as the back--traci and chris just look like they fit here...

i think what i remember for this shot was the word "carnal"--enough said...

we drove down the road a bit to these amazing waterfalls, and had a little fun watching traci and chris splash in the water

finally onto the golf course, where the approach to the 18th hole has to be one of the most challenging

and if the choice of location for the engagement shoot wasn't impressive enough, just wait until the wedding. palm springs, private estate, gatsby-esque. let the suspense begin! congratulations traci and chris, we can't wait until april.

Sweet Family

The day after Thanksgiving, I met my friend Kim and her family out at La Jolla to get a few quick pics of the whole family, which is usually difficult since they are never in the same place at the same time. Here are a few of my faves...
