despite the fact that james and i don't have kids, we have managed to attend our fair share of 1-year old birthday parties over the last few years. and although you would think that we would have nothing to do at one of these parties, bringing a huge camera along usually ensures that there is plenty to do.last month, james and i took a little trip to appleton, wisconsin, which is about 2 hours north of milwaukee, to see one of my best friends and his family, and to celebrate his daughter's 1-year costume birthday party.

here are some of our favorite shots from the weekend, you just don't get fall foliage in san diego, so it was fun to actually see leaves on the ground and have to wear a coat in october.
