congratulations ann!

i was so excited to hear that one of my good friends was not only starting her own super-cool business, but wanted to take some portfolio pictures for her new website (coming soon: http://www.thetoybusiness.com). i just happened to be in chicago where she lives so we took a quick walk down to a local playground and got some perfect shots. here's a few of my faves...how cute is she?

congratulations on the new business ann, i know you are going to be an even bigger success than you already are, and can't wait to see you in march!

the davis family

this could quite possibly be the cutest family in america (now i know i am going to get a lot of flack for saying that from the rest of my friends who i say are the cutest, but really, aren't they adorable?) not only are the kids adorable, but they have the sweetest personalities and are so much fun to photograph, plus they love the camera (well, at least most of the time). we went out early one morning to la jolla cove to try and beat the bright sun, but it was already out, shining bright. it didn't matter, the family looked amazing, and we had a great time running around the sand and rocks. here are a few of my faves...

couldn't leave out dayna, who by the way has the most amazing arms (she swears its only from pilates but i don't know if i believe her)

happy birthday sophie!

despite the fact that james and i don't have kids, we have managed to attend our fair share of 1-year old birthday parties over the last few years. and although you would think that we would have nothing to do at one of these parties, bringing a huge camera along usually ensures that there is plenty to do.

last month, james and i took a little trip to appleton, wisconsin, which is about 2 hours north of milwaukee, to see one of my best friends and his family, and to celebrate his daughter's 1-year costume birthday party.

here are some of our favorite shots from the weekend, you just don't get fall foliage in san diego, so it was fun to actually see leaves on the ground and have to wear a coat in october.

our first shots, she instantly loved her new auntie and uncle...

the little monkey, how cute is her look here?

the yummy cupcake...

playing with her new toys...

she loves the camera, and is so photogenic, she stayed up WAY past her bedtime to do a third photo shoot...

the next day before we left, we headed outside to get some fall pics...these are my favorites, the colors are so vibrant!

what a great smile! she is so adorable, james had to pull the camera away so we could get on the road and make our flight :)

saving the best for last...

happy birthday, we are so glad we could celebrate with you!

wedding: laura and todd

laura and todd got married in todd's family's backyard, which was decorated with the most adorable fall decorations and colors. from mini pumpkins to handmade centerpieces to paper lanterns and cranberry punch, the decor was outstanding, and all done by laura and friends.

laura did a bridal shoot with us last month, and we got some great shots of her looking super-sassy in her vintagey dress...

for the wedding, laura designed her own veil, very 20s-style, which added even more glamour to her amazing look...

some of the details...

the girls carried vintage bags instead of bouquets, very cool

we had a lot of fun with the families...

james had the guys climbing in trees for their photos...

the ceremony didn't start until the sun went down, which made for some interesting photography, luckily we got some great emotional moments

todd looked so happy to see laura...

the first dance was beautiful, laura and todd are so in love

they left the reception through a sea of red balloons, off to a very fun honeymoon. congratulations laura and todd, we wish you many years of happiness and lots of laughter!
